I'm on Facebook

So I decided to start something else that I can be obsessed with for a couple of weeks and then ignore: FACEBOOK! I have a Myspace page that I never look at anymore so why not start a Facebook page too? I hope I get lots of friends that I can never talk to just like on Myspace. Oh the joy! So, please, by all means, if you have a Facebook page, add me as a friend! I'm very, very low maintenance and we both get to increase our friend count. A win-win situation!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and has a wonderful New Year's Eve. Please be careful out there tomorrow night. Crazies are out and about. Trust me; I used to be one of them! Broke a finger last year to prove it. Alas, I no longer socialize so I will be safely tucked away at Boyfriend's house desperately trying to stay awake until Midnight. Is my life exciting or what?

The Incident of the Dog and the Nail Clippers

This is poor Maddie after her visit to the vet. She went in because she somehow nearly ripped off one of her nails on her back foot. So, the vet cut that nail off and then clipped the rest of her nails...too short. Poor dog had to have that styptic powder put on several nails. Then later that night they started bleeding again after she'd been outside in the snow. Hence the socks. Doesn't she look so sad cute?!

Monday Musings

This girl has just really gone crazy developmentally over the past month. I couldn't believe how active she was when I went to visit her and Jodi on Saturday afternoon. What a big girl! I had a great time visiting with Olivia and Jodi as always. Ryan was out braving the stores Christmas shopping with his brother so I went over to hang out for a bit. I was so excited to see her ride her pony all over the house. Wow!

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Is it possible for it to be too cold for ice? I was surprised to wake up this morning and not have to scrape ice off of my car windows. I was not, however, disappointed! I was always "one of those kids" who would try to run around outside without gloves or a hat on (only if my mom didn't catch me). Still haven't changed. My hands weren't too happy with me when I found out I left my gloves in the car overnight. Thank goodness for heated seats though! My butt is always nice and warm. Can't say the same for my hands.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Boyfriend used to be fairly fluent in American Sign Language. He teeters on the idea of going to school to become an interpreter. I got bored on Friday and decided to learn sign language too. I've already got about 400 signs memorized. I've always been great at cramming! Now ask me to sign a sentence and I'd look at you like you were crazy. But, hopefully, I will stay with it and learn enough to converse. At least with Boyfriend. There's something fun about knowing you can talk to somebody without anyone knowing what you're saying. Heh heh.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

AAAAAAUUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!! Anyone else still not done shopping for Christmas? I'm not! To tell the truth: I've barely started. Crap. Only one more weekend! Of course, I'm the World's Best (Worst) Procrastinator so I'm sure I'll pull it off. I've actually contemplated mailing out Christmas cards this year. Granted, I might not actually do it, but contemplating doing it is waaay more than I've done for the past 10 years. It's a step.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

If you haven't caught on by now, I looooove sleeping. It's like my all-time favorite. So imagine my surprise when I woke up at 8:30 yesterday (a Sunday people) and actually GOT UP! Gasp! I had visions of all that I would accomplish with my extra hours, like: extra video game time and movie watching. It's nice to have goals.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Whenever it gets this cold out I always worry about dogs that are left outside. Please, if you have dogs or have neighbors who have dogs, bring them inside (0r ask your neighbor to)!! Can you imagine how cold it would be to have to sleep outside, even with a fur coat?

++++++++++++++++++++++++

So, here is my totally random, totally boring Monday post. My brain is too cold to think of anything witty to post about. I hope everyone has a good week and stays as warm as possible!

Oh that Edward

Robert Pattinson AKA "Edward Cullen"

So what if he plays a 17 year old (who's been 17 for "...a while")? He's actually 22 in real life (which, granted, is still too young for me). Isn't he dreamy? And all "vampire-y". So, yes, I too am a "Twilight" fan. I read all four books in six days a couple of months ago. Boy that was a productive six days. I'm surprised I took time out to eat and sleep (okay, who am I kidding? Of course I ate and slept--probably the only things I did do besides read).

Jodi, Heather and I went to see the movie on Friday. It was a lot of fun! We got there early enough to chat it up before it started, which was nice. We even took pictures to document the day (well, except for me because I didn't have my camera). I'm a sucker for cheesy love stories so I really liked the movie. It stayed pretty true to the book I thought, which was nice.

You know what though? As dreamy as Edward is, I'll still take my Andrew (mortality, crazy mom and all).

My Friend: The Cold

Picture of a cold virus or a plasma ball. You decide.

So my wonderful parents, in the true spirit of thanks"giving" and togetherness, gave me their colds this lovely holiday weekend. Thanks Mom. Thanks Dad. It must have been a particularly nasty little virus as I was avoiding contact, we were lysol-ing everything and washing our hands constantly. Damn if I still didn't get it. Such crappy timing too since I was planning on hanging out with Jodi and Olivia on Monday. Well, my Monday consisted of me getting up to go to work, realizing I wasn't going anywhere and going back to sleep...until 3:00. In the afternoon, people.

So, since Thursday evening I've had the usual bout of symptoms: "sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, and coughing; sometimes accompanied by 'pink eye', muscle aches, fatigue, malaise, headaches, muscle weakness and loss of appetite." Damn. Minus the "loss of appetite" thing. What I wouldn't do for a good stomach virus that made me lose about ten pounds.
